Beard Transplant Problems: Cobblestoning, Hyperpigmentation, and Unnatural Results

O.o.O
It’s not easy for me to share this experience, but I hope it can provide some insight for others dealing with challenging cosmetic outcomes. Around 13 months ago, I decided to undergo a beard transplant, hoping it would be a positive change. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely uncomfortable, and the results have been even more disappointing. Over a year later, I’m still struggling with hyperpigmentation, as you can see in the pictures. The beard lines are unnaturally straight, resembling ruler-straight edges, and most of the hair follicles contain 3-5 hairs, leading to noticeable cobblestoning.

In the photos marked with yellow Xs, taken in August 2022—two months post-procedure—you’ll notice the issues beginning to appear. The other images, from June 2022 after a jawline adjustment, show how the lower jaw area was altered even more than my original procedure 12 months prior.

I’m now considering electrolysis to soften the lines, give a more natural look, and thin out some of the overly dense follicles. Has anyone here experienced persistent hyperpigmentation or cobblestoning beyond a year? I’d like to know if electrolysis can help lighten hyperpigmented areas or reduce cobblestoning on follicles that are targeted.

Electrolysis is a targeted hair removal technique that uses electric currents to treat individual hair follicles. Although it can effectively eliminate unwanted hair, it’s important to understand that electrolysis alone may not resolve issues like hyperpigmentation or cobblestoning. These skin concerns might require additional treatments tailored to your unique condition.

Consulting a qualified healthcare professional is essential to explore your options and identify the most suitable approach. They can provide detailed guidance on the potential benefits, limitations, and expected results of electrolysis or any alternative treatments that may be better suited to your needs.
