Does SMP Damage Fine Hairs?

Hello everyone,

I’m exploring scalp micropigmentation (SMP) as an option to boost the density look after my transplant. However, I’m concerned about whether SMP might damage fine hair? Especially in areas where the hair is just starting to grow in.

Has anyone experienced any adverse effects on new hair growth after SMP?

I had SMP applied a few months after my transplant, and I didn’t notice any harm to my new hair. My technician was very cautious and used a shallow technique designed specifically for transplant patients. I’d recommend waiting until your hair has matured a bit and choosing someone experienced.
