FUE on FUT Scar??

Hi guys,

I’ve been researching a bit about FUE and was wondering how often it's used to cover a scar? I had a strip procedure years ago, and the scar has always bothered me. I’d like to be able to crop my hair short, but I know the scar limits how close I can go. How many grafts would typically be needed to cover a strip scar, and would it let me buzz down to something like a #2 guard without it being noticeable? Would love to hear from others who’ve gone through this!

It’s definitely possible to use FUE for scar coverage. I’ve seen cases where even a small number of grafts (500–700) made a big difference, but it really depends on the size of the scar and the surrounding hair density. Did you consult a surgeon yet? They should be able to give you an estimate based on your scar's width and length.

It really depends on the quality of the scar tissue too. Scar tissue doesn’t have the same blood supply as regular scalp tissue, so graft survival rates might not be as high.
