Graft number I need?

Hey guys, I’m currently trying to figure out how many grafts I’d actually need for decent coverage. I see some guys get 2,500, others get 5,000+, and I have no idea where I fall on the scale.

It really depends on your donor area and how much density you want. I was Norwood 4 and had 3,200 grafts, which gave me a nice hairline and mid-scalp coverage. If you want to hit the crown too, you might be looking at 4,000+.

That makes sense. I’d rather prioritize the hairline and mid-scalp over the crown if I don’t have enough donor supply. Did your surgeon recommend spacing out grafts over multiple sessions, or did you do everything in one go?

Over two sessions, you shouldn't rush things imo.

I think you should go with two seperate sessions in which you focus on the frontal 2/3 in the first and crown on the second.
