Hair Loss In Early Ages?

Hi all,

I'm a 26-year-old guy, and over the past month, I've noticed that I've been losing a lot of hair daily. I think it could be MPB, so I went to my dermatologist, but he said he doesn't see any signs of it (he didn't do a miniaturization test, though). I don't have bald spots or any visible thinning in areas, but I still wasn't convinced since I’ve been losing hair for the past couple of weeks.

Here’s the weird thing... most of the hair seems to be falling out from areas where people don’t typically go bald. For example, if I tug on the back of my neck or my sideburns, way more hair comes out compared to the top of my head, hairline, or temples.

Do you think this could be caused by some other medical condition? I’ve read that iron deficiency and other factors could lead to hair loss.

Hey, it doesn’t sound like typical MPB to me. Male pattern baldness usually starts with thinning at the temples, hairline, or crown—not in areas like the neck or sideburns. What you’re describing sounds more like telogen effluvium (TE), which can cause shedding from all over the scalp. It’s often triggered by things like stress, illness, nutritional deficiencies, or even changes in diet. Have you experienced anything like that recently?
