Hats, Beanies and Hair Loss

I wear a beanie almost every day because I don’t like how my thinning hair looks, but I keep hearing people say that wearing hats all the time can make hair loss worse. Is there any truth to this?

Total myth. Wearing a hat won’t cause baldness unless it’s so tight that it’s cutting off circulation to your scalp (which is super rare).

Good to know. But what about hat friction? Could that cause more shedding if it’s constantly rubbing against my hair?

Rubbing might make weak hairs fall out faster, but those hairs were gonna shed anyway. It won’t actually cause new hair loss—just makes existing shedding more noticeable.
