How Effective Is Beard Hair for Scalp Transplants?

Hello guys,

For those who have had beard hair used as donor grafts, how well did it blend with your scalp hair? Were there any differences in texture or growth patterns? Also, how did your beard donor area heal after the extraction?

I had beard hair used in my transplant about two years ago, and I’m really happy with the results. It was used to add density to the crown area. While the texture is slightly coarser compared to my scalp hair, it’s not noticeable unless you’re really looking closely.

Donor area healed within a few weeks, with only minor redness that faded after a month.

If you can find a good clinic who is experienced in BHT, it works just fine. Beard hair as not good as scalp hair of course but if you don't have sufficent amount of hair on the scalp, no other choices.
