After my hair transplant, my doctor recommended using Minoxidil. However, I stopped using it a few months ago. Will the transplanted hair fall out, or will it remain permanent? Has anyone stopped using Minoxidil and still had good results?
Minoxidil can help maintain and support the results of your hair transplant, but it's not necessary for the transplanted hair to stay in place. The transplanted follicles are usually permanent, so they should stay for the long term, assuming you don’t experience further hair loss from other areas.
That said, if you stopped using Minoxidil, it could impact the non-transplanted hair that’s still susceptible to thinning or shedding. Some people stop using it and still have good results, but it varies from person to person.
If you’re concerned about the hair around your transplant, you might want to talk to your doctor about the best course of action moving forward.
