Quick question about hair transplant

Hello everyone!

I have a question about hair transplantation. Is it possible to implant hair across the entire scalp, including areas that still have some hair but not as thick or full as they used to be?

I’m curious about partially thinned areas, as well as normal sections that have just lost some density over time. Assuming there's enough donor hair, would this approach work, or is it typically reserved for completely bald areas?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there!

Yes, it’s definitely possible to implant hair across the entire scalp, even in areas that still have some hair but have thinned out. This is often referred to as "density packing," where grafts are placed between existing hairs to increase overall thickness.

However, it’s important to consider the condition of your existing hair in those areas. If the hair is actively thinning due to conditions like male pattern baldness, the transplanted hair will stay, but the natural hair may continue to thin over time. This is why many surgeons recommend combining a transplant with treatments like finasteride or minoxidil to help stabilize further loss.

As long as you have a sufficient donor area, this approach can work well. Just make sure to consult with a skilled surgeon to develop a plan that balances donor management and your desired results.

Good luck!
